Guitarist and songwriter David O'Leary will release a new EP, Wish I Could Go Back, on August 18, 2024. This EP marks David O'Leary's return after a 20-year hiatus from music.
Wish I Could Go Back features a captivating collection of four songs, each dealing with feelings of isolation, loss, and regret.
The EP blends classic rock, anthemic choruses, and explores themes of isolation, homesickness, and regret. From the poignant opening instrumental of “The Long Goodbye” to the energetic “Eire Forever,” each song tells a unique story, offering a rich and diverse listening experience.
«For any artist, releasing new music always comes with a mix of anxiety, trepidation, as well as excitement and creative reward. Not having written or released any music in over 20 years amplified all of the above feelings a thousandfold. As humans, we all experience isolation, loss, and regret, and my hope is that music connects with people and becomes a soundtrack to their own experiences.»
The first single ‘Wish I Could Go Back’ has already generated buzz and has been featured on Radio Nova Ireland, AUXIOS FM France, and has earned praise for its lyrical storytelling and emotional music.
SRE Radio says: “A lovely, atmospheric song that captures the listener’s heart and imagination, lovely lyrics albeit extremely sad and regretful but very well written and expressed.”
Wish I Could Go Back will be available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
